Melinda (Mel) Hightower is a dynamic thought leader on inclusive growth and financial health. Her work explores how diversity, equity, and inclusion fuel innovation, influence, and impact in business. A seasoned client strategist and sales executive, she has led efforts at major financial institutions to deliver advice and solutions that better serve all investors. Mel founded High Tide Content Lab, a consulting firm that uses inclusive storytelling as a strategic growth driver—amplifying diverse voices and shaping more relevant products.
Mel is a frequent conference speaker and has been featured in media outlets, including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Barron’s, Essence, Bloomberg Radio, and PBS. She serves on the boards of Attune, a financial wellness insights platform; the Grabhorn Institute, an arts nonprofit placing the printed word at the center of an equitable society; and the Financial Health Network, a national nonprofit advancing financial well-being for those most at risk.
She believes in the power of intellectual curiosity, and her 20+ year multidisciplinary career spans financial services, media, and law. Mel holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and earned graduate degrees from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the University of Virginia School of Law.
A Detroit native, Mel now lives in San Francisco.
