Meeting the Moment: Discreet Executive Support

Meeting the Moment: helping healthcare executives navigate equity-related challenges with discretion, clarity, and confidence.

As public discourse grows more polarized and scrutiny of diversity and equity efforts intensifies, many healthcare leaders are re-evaluating how to move forward. For those committed to equity—but cautious about visibility—traditional public-facing initiatives may feel too risky, too exposed, or too politicized. That doesn’t mean the work should stop. It means the strategy must adapt.

Leadership Advisory Retainers

We offer private monthly or quarterly strategy sessions for executive leaders (typically 1–3 people) who are navigating changes in organizational culture in real time. These sessions are confidential, customized, and designed to build internal alignment, reduce reputational risk, and strengthen leadership clarity.

We support:

  • Strategic decision-making grounded in real-world constraints
  • Messaging and positioning that align with both mission and climate
  • Navigating internal tensions and sensitive dynamics
  • Responsive feedback on emerging issues or urgent needs

Optional add-ons include document review, messaging refinement, and guidance for broader team engagement.

A Safer, Smarter Way to Lead

Advancing Health Equity provides leaders with a safe space to reflect, plan, and adapt—without public pressure, overexposure, or rushed decision-making. Our goal is to equip leaders with the insight, language, and strategy needed to move forward, even when the path is unclear.

Let’s Talk

Let’s discuss how we can support your leadership team—quietly, strategically, and with purpose.

Building Shared Understanding at the Leadership Level

Advancing Health Equity recently partnered with the leadership of a world-renowned healthcare research institute to deliver targeted training on health equity and its essential role in advancing quality and safety in healthcare.

Through this session, we equipped senior leaders with a shared language and framework for understanding health equity—not as an add-on, but as a critical driver of clinical excellence, research integrity, and organizational accountability.

By aligning equity with the institute’s existing quality and safety standards, we helped bridge gaps in understanding and foster collective ownership of equity-centered work across departments.

This training marks an important step in embedding health equity into the core of institutional leadership—ensuring that those at the helm are equipped to champion change that is both strategic and sustainable.

Partnering for Future Healthcare Leaders

Advancing Health Equity is proud to partner with SUNY Downstate on TRANSPORT II, a research training program dedicated to empowering diverse health science students and future healthcare providers to lead in advancing health equity.

Led by Dr. W. Marcus Lambert, Dr. Moro Salifu, and Dr. Carla Boutin-Foster, TRANSPORT II focuses on equipping students from underrepresented backgrounds with the skills to address health disparities through research, community engagement, and policy development.

As an evaluation and strategy partner, Advancing Health Equity will help assess the program’s impact, identify opportunities for growth, and provide sustainability recommendations to ensure long-term, equity-centered success.

This collaboration is a critical step in strengthening the pipeline of healthcare leaders committed to eliminating disparities and driving meaningful, lasting change in Brooklyn and beyond.

Supporting Statewide Health Equity Leadership

We’re honored to support one of the country’s leading state health departments in embedding health equity into the core of its mission and operations.

Through a multi-faceted engagement, Advancing Health Equity helped inform the department’s long-term vision and capacity to lead on equity-centered change. Our collaboration included:

  • Health Equity Assessment: Provided a comprehensive analysis to guide the strategic development of health equity initiatives.
  • Training for 3,500+ Department Staff: Delivered organization-wide training to strengthen shared understanding of health equity principles and their relevance to public health practice.
  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Crafted actionable recommendations and a phased implementation plan to drive sustainable progress.

This work culminated in a powerful public commitment from the department’s Commissioner, who formally named health equity a foundational pillar of the agency’s mission.

Together, we’re helping build a public health infrastructure where equity is not just a value—but a guiding standard for decision-making, service delivery, and community trust.
